Glen Carbon to open police station as cooling center
With temperatures expected to reach the mid-90s on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Village of Glen Carbon has opted to open the Glen Carbon Police Department – Community Room, as a cooling center.
The community room at 149 N. Main St. is scheduled to be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, the village said.
The Glen Carbon Centennial Library at 198 S. Main St., also is available as cooling location, the village police department said.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
A high of 93 is projected for Tuesday, and a high of 94 is projected for Wednesday.
