Madison County authorities say three people have been arrested in connection to a string of vehicle break-ins that were reported in Godfrey last week.

Capt. Mike Dixon of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office said authorities had received 14 or 15 burglary reports from residents around the Villa Marie subdivision on Sept. 14. Residents reported missing money, wallets, purses, electronics and cameras. Dixon said “thousands of dollars worth of stuff” in all was reported stolen from unlocked vehicles.

Dixon said evidence led investigators to a group of friends from the Cottage Hills and Bethalto area. The suspects were identified as 18-year-old David “Jordan” Panzier, 20-year-old John J. Sanders II and 19-year-old Kaitlyn R. Rexford.

According to online court records from the Madison County Circuit Clerk’s Office, Panzier, Sanders and Rexford were each charged with nine felony counts of burglary on Monday.

Authorities said all three were taken to the Madison County jail and had their bails set at $100,000.
