Agencies respond to large diesel fuel spill near Interstate 64
French Village Fire Department responded to a large diesel fuel spill near a westbound lane of Interstate 64 on Sunday.
Approximately 100 gallons of fuel spilled into a grassy area where officials say it was contained. The fire department stated in a post to social media that there was no threat of contamination to the water way.
The cause of the spill was accidental, the fire department stated. The St. Clair Special Emergency Services was requested for hazmat response.
