East St. Louis church to hold MLK Day celebration

The annual celebration of the life and work of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at noon Monday at St. Luke A.M.E. Church.

The Rev. Damon Mitchell will deliver the keynote address at the celebration, located at 414 N. 14th Street. This year’s theme is “There is but one race. And, that is the human race.”

Admission is free and the event is open to the public. The program is sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Program Committee.
