Crews respond to 2-acre grass fire in Collinsville

Crews responded to a grass fire Wednesday in an area near the 7000 block of Lockmann Road.

Collinsville Capt. Dusty Katich said the approximately two-acre fire burned in a heavily wooded area a half-mile behind the road.

Katich said crews knocked down the flames fairly fast, even as the fire was difficult to physically access.

No one was hurt and no property was damaged by the fire. The cause of the flames has not been determined, Katich said.
