Rodney Davis statement on bill that keeps government open through September
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, released a statement on the funding bill for Fiscal Year 2017 that funds the government through September:
“Today, I voted to keep the government open but I continue to believe Congress should go line-by-line through each appropriation bill to determine areas where we can reduce and re-prioritize spending. The bill, negotiated by President Trump and bipartisan leaders in Congress, has many good policies for my constituents, including prioritizing our military and funding a pay increase for our troops, increasing border protections, reducing spending for the EPA, and keeping the promises made to our retired coal miners.”
