Emergency personnel rescued a person calling for help from the Mississippi River on Friday night, the Chester Fire Department said in a post to Facebook.
At 10:47 p.m., the fire department was called to a search and rescue for someone they believe might have jumped from the Chester Bridge. Officers from the Chester Police Department and personnel from Union Pacific railroad told firefighters that they could hear cries for help coming from down river, according to the Facebook post.
The individual was found and taken by ambulance by about midnight, the post states.
Officials from Chester police and fire departments could not be reached for further comment Saturday evening.
