MetroEast Motorsports expanding

MetroEast Motorsports in O’Fallon is building a 30,000-square-foot addition to its business. The multi-million dollar project, which is receiving Small Business Administration assistance, started in April, and is expected to be completed by August.

LaDonna Boyd, who co-owns the business with her husband, Brett, said they plan to add more motorcycle lines with the additional showroom floor space. LaDonna Boyd could not comment on what the additional lines would be.

The expansion will be two stories with a basement and will have winter storage units for customers, LaDonna Boyd said.

She said the project will allow the dealership to be a destination for the motorcycle community. The business also does repairs and will also be an Allstate Insurance location.

The Boyds, of Collinsville, purchased MetroEast Motorsports, at 1714 Frontage Road, in January 2016 when the dealership was under performing, LaDonna Boyd said.

The location has about 87,000 vehicles drive by it a day, LaDonna Boyd said.
