Tuesday will bring another sunny day with a high near 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

With a low around 65 degrees Tuesday night, metro-east residents should prepare for a 20 percent chance of rain Wednesday afternoon.

This week’s forecast for the metro-east from the National Weather Service:

Today ... Sunny, with a high near 87 degrees. South wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 12 to 17 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 26 mph.

Tonight ... Mostly clear, with a low around 65 degrees. South wind 8 to 14 mph.

Wednesday ... A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 84 degrees. South wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.

Wednesday Night ... A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67 degrees. South wind 8 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph.

Thursday ... Mostly sunny, with a high near 86 degrees. South wind 8 to 11 mph.

Thursday Night ... A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66 degrees.

Friday ... Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
