Suspects caught after armed MetroLink robbery, police say

Police say a man was robbed Thursday afternoon at the Clayton MetroLink Station in St. Louis.

He was confronted by two adult male suspects, one of whom had a handgun, police say. The men took money from the victim, who then ran to safety and called 911, according to a St. Louis County police news release. The victim was uninjured.

Officers were riding the train to the Clayton station as the man’s call came in, and they arrived on scene moments later.

Both suspects fled the area on foot, but police caught up with them and were able to apprehend them, according to the release. Police recovered a loaded handgun that was discarded by one of the suspects.

St. Louis police did not clarify if the men were arrested or charged and did not respond for further comment.
