Man charged with sexual abuse, grooming of 13-year-old boy

A Mascoutah man was charged with criminal sexual abuse and grooming of a 13-year-old boy.

Police say Tyrean D. Brooks, 18, seduced and solicited the 13-year-old online before he sexually penetrated him. Brooks is less than five years older than the 13-year-old.

Charges were filed May 31, and Brooks is not yet in police custody, as of Friday afternoon.
