Boil order lifted in St. Clair County

A boil order that was in place for about 2,000 metro-east water customers has been lifted by Illinois American Water.

Illinois American Water issued the precautionary boil order Friday night after a water main break on 81st Street in East St. Louis.

On Saturday evening, Illinois American Water sent a message to update customers saying a series of tests showed water met “all state and federal requirements.”
