Mascoutah pool to close for maintenance for the week

Mascoutah city’s large deep pool will be closed for maintenance Tuesday, June 20 through Friday, June 23, according to the city’s website.

The zero entry pool will remain open.

Mascoutah’s pool is at 901 N. Sixth St. Swimmers can buy a pass for the summer or pay individually for each pool visit. Admission is cash only.

Aside from some special occasions, pool hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. until Aug. 13, and from Aug. 14-Sept. 3, the pool is open 11 a.m.-7 p.m. only Saturdays and Sundays.

A Chicago legislator has put the brakes on his idea to charge a 21-cent tax for every mile a vehicle drives on Illinois roads. Money needed as state’s motor fuels tax decreases.
