Police called to shooting in Alton

Police were investigating a shooting early Saturday morning in Alton.

The Alton Telegraph reported the shooting took place about 2 a.m. near a playground in the 700 block of Oakwood in Alton.

Police were looking for a white convertible with Wisconsin license plates, the Telegraph reported.

There was no information available about the condition of the person who was shot.
