One injured after car drives into Belleville business

A vehicle struck a building just off of State Route 15 near Eckert’s in Belleville on Monday evening.

An employee was driving in the parking lot of Cannon Utility Services at 1320 State Route 15 when his pickup truck drove through the door and window of the business, about halfway into the building.

The building had minor structural damage from the crash, Belleville Fire Chief Tom Pour said. The business is relatively new to the city, as the department had recently done an inspection.

What caused the crash was unknown immediately, Pour said. People were inside the building at the time of the crash, but no one was injured. The driver had minor injuries, and was taken to an area hospital.
