Want a job with IDOT? Here’s how to get a winter job.
You can work nights, days, weekends and holidays this winter with the Illinois Department of Transportation.
IDOT is hiring now for the “Snowbird” program for both full-time, temporary highway maintenance and on-call, as-needed truck operators.
Both positions require a Class A or B commercial driver’s license with an X or N endorsements. The full-time workers perform similar duties to the department’s year-round highway maintainers; the on-call workers are needed for snow plows and salt spreaders.
