St. Louis a good place to raise a family? More than 100 cities are better, survey says

St. Louis has another ranking to add to its ever-growing list of negative assessments, including its appearance on lists of the “worst cities to live in” and “unhappiest.”

According to WalletHub.com’s analysis of 41 “key metrics that take into account essential family dynamics,” St. Louis is ranked 128th out of the 150 cities in the survey. For health and safety, St. Louis came in dead last.

The city’s highest rank was for “Family Fun,” at 39.

The overall worst places to raise a family, according to the survey, were 150th Birmingham, Alabama, behind Detroit in the 149th spot.

The highest-ranked were Overland Park, Kansas, which was also first in “affordability,” and Madison, Wisconsin, which was first in “Education and Child Care.”

In 2016, St. Louis made the worst list for being among the most dangerous cities.
