Mascoutah man will send daughter to college with lottery winnings
A Mascoutah man bought a $30 scratch ticket at Speedi-Chek and walked away $100,000 richer.
John Wright scratched his Million $ Match ticket right there in the Mascoutah liquor store, at 1040 W. Main St.
“I was shocked when I saw the $100,000 prize amount! I signed the back of my ticket right away,” he told lottery officials.
He told Illinois Lottery officials this week that he plans to help pay for his daughter’s college.
The Illinois Lottery also paid a $1,000 bonus to Speedi-Chek for selling the winning ticket.
“I feel so lucky!” Wright said at the Illinois Lottery Prize Center in Springfield.
