In the wake of Vegas, concert in Illinois will go on, country singer says

Country music singer Luke Bryan will be playing on Friday night in Edinburg at the Ayers Family Farm, southeast of Springfield. Bryan has continued his concert series since the shooting at a Las Vegas country music show earlier this week.

“We want to assure our fans that we are working with state and local officials to do everything possible to ensure your safety during our Farm Tour shows,” Bryan’s Facebook Farm Tour page reads.

The country music singer, known for several top five hits such as “I Don’t Want This Night to End” and “Fast”, is also known for his tush-shaking prowess on stage.

A fan at the Baldwin City show noted on Facebook that there were “lots of LEO at the concert,” referring to law enforcement officers.

Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp said the Edinburg site does not have any high places from which a person could shoot, nor does it have tree lines near the concert site.

We’ll be watching. They’re going to be safe,” Kettelkamp said of concertgoers.

Edinburg is southeast of Springfield in Christian County.
