Three boys arrested in armed robbery of Belleville pedestrian
Three boys were in Belleville police custody in connection with an armed robbery on Thursday evening.
Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 200 block of North Charles Street at about 8 p.m. Thursday. A man said he was walking when two boys came up behind him, showing handguns and demanding money.
The man gave the money to the boys, who ran away, police said. Police found two boys about a block away matching the brief description the victim provided. Those boys were taken into custody; the third was later arrested on charges of having a role in the robbery.
The identities of the three were not released. Belleville police were not disclosing their ages, referring to them only as juveniles.
