Inmates escape from prison bus in Franklin County
At least three inmates escaped from a prison bus Friday afternoon in the West City area, WSIL is reporting.
Little information was available at 9 p.m. Friday, but West City police and Illinois State Police are involved in the investigation.
West City is near Benton in Franklin County, about 100 miles from Belleville.
The identities of the inmates and the direction in which they were headed were not available Friday evening.
