Alton car wash employee dies in one-vehicle crash

An employee at an Alton car wash died Sunday after he hit the gas pedal in a car he was cleaning and ran into a ditch, according to the Alton Telegraph.

The 42-year-old employee at Auto Butler Car Wash got into a customer’s car as it came out of the dryer tunnel, and started spraying Windex on the windows, the Telegraph reported. He hit the gas, and the car went straight into a ditch.
