Relative of dead 3-year-old is in custody in the shooting death of accused teen

A teenager in St. Louis was shot and killed earlier this month while riding his bike, and his death may have been to avenge the 2015 death of a 3-year-old boy.

Kameron Harvey, of Hazelwood, was charged in the death of Xavier “Zae” Cartier Robinson, 3, who was shot to death as Robinson was playing with the laser sight on a handgun. Police in 2015 said Harvey was a friend of the child’s older brother.

Harvey was charged as an adult and was on house arrest at his death.

Two men, one a relative of Xavier, have been arrested in Harvey’s death but not charged. Prosecutors told the Post-Dispatch that they are reviewing the case.

Xavier’s parents, Shawmane Robinson and Semaj Porter, were charged with child endangerment. Police previously said they saw the teens playing with a gun the night before but did not take it away. Their cases are pending in St. Louis County court.
