If you were hoping to see everyone’s favorite founding father at Fox Theatre in April, you may be out of luck.

Tickets for “Hamilton: An American Musical” sold out at the St. Louis venue after just four hours.

Tickets for the history-based musical by Lin-Manual Miranda went on sale at 9 a.m. Monday and by 1:30 p.m., Fox Theatre tweeted that the show had sold out.

A later tweet, however, suggested musical fans should not give up quite yet.

“There will be a lottery for this engagement - details will be announced closer to the engagement,” they tweeted.

Tickets sold by the Fox cost between $80 and $500. As of 2 p.m. Monday, tickets on third party websites like Vivid Seats had tickets on sale for as much as $2042 for orchestra seats and $400 for balcony seats.

The musical features a blend of hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway style songs, including “My Shot”, “The Schuyler Sisters,” “Satisfied” and “Helpless.”

Satisfied and helpless customers alike took to social media to express how they had either missed their shot or will be in the room where it happens.
