Wahlburgers chain coming to St. Louis

A Wahlburgers is coming to St. Louis, the restaurant’s famous co-owner confirmed on Great Day St. Louis during its Thursday show.

When asked whether he could confirm the new location, Mark Wahlberg told host Matt Chambers that “Yes, absolutely I can,” KMOV reported.

A Hy-Vee, Inc. representative could not confirm a location or opening date on Thursday, according to KMOV, but she told the media outlet the company is looking at several locations in St. Louis.

Hy-Vee, Inc. announced on Aug. 31 that it planned to build, own and operate 26 Wahlburgers restaurants in the Midwest region.

This expansion will nearly double the number of Wahlburgers restaurants — as it sits now, Wahlburgers has17 locations in nine states and Canada.

The first Hy-Vee-owned Wahlburgers is slated to open in mid-2018 in West Des Moines, Iowa, according to the company.

The family owned restaurant is at the center of A&E reality TV show “The Wahlburgers.”

Dying to try these famous burgers now? St. Louisans can drive up north to Cleveland or down south to Atlanta to get their Wahlbuger fix.
