Idaho-based business to open metro-east distribution center
A Boise, Idaho, company that sells wood products and building materials plans to open a distribution center in Pontoon Beach to serve the St. Louis area.
Boise Cascade Company is set to open a building materials distribution center that will have a sales and operations staff and indoor and outdoor storage space to handle a broader range of products.
Previously, Boise Cascade used its Memphis distribution center to serve the St. Louis area.
“We’re excited about expanding our footprint in St. Louis,” said Randy Zulager, Memphis branch manager. “With this facility, we’ll be able to significantly increase our product offering and service capability for our customers to support the area’s growth in home construction as well as remodel and repair.”
The company produces of engineered wood products and plywood and a wholesale distributor of building products.
Boise Cascade is locating its new distribution center in a 2,300-square-foot facility on a four-acre lot.
“Initially, it will be a small staff at this location, but it will make a big difference to our area customers (dealers, lumber yards, and retail) having a location closer to them,” said Lisa Chapman, a spokeswoman for the company.
