Police are looking for the person who they say damaged a metal bench and several concrete steps early Friday morning between the courthouse and administration buildings in Edwardsville.

A white Chevrolet or GMC four-door truck can be seen on surveillance pictures captured as the truck caused the damage around 2 a.m. Friday, Capt. T. Mike Dixon wrote on a Facebook post with four photos of the truck.

“Notice the truck has tinted windows, a fiberglass tonneau bed cover, chrome steel wheels, and chrome running boards,” Dixon wrote.

The captain noted that the truck may have damage to the driver’s side front wheel and quarter panel after it was seen on surveillance footage striking the bench. It also may have damaged running boards and tailgate.

Anyone with information about the truck or driver is asked to call the Edwardsville Police Department at 618- 656-2131 or the Madison County Sheriff's Office anonymous tip line at 618-296-3000.

“Lets (sic) hold this driver financial (sic) accountable for the cost of the repairs and not the tax payers,” Dixon wrote.
