Pilot arrested at Lambert after officials find loaded gun in carry-on
Police arrested a 51-year-old Southwest Airlines pilot early Wednesday morning after St. Louis Lambert Airport officials said they discovered a loaded 9mm pistol in his carry-on luggage.
He was taken into custody shortly before 5 a.m. in the Terminal 2 checkpoint, a release from St. Louis Lambert Airport stated. He did not board a plane with the gun.
The pilot is a first officer employed by Southwest Airlines.
“The suspect did not have any conceal-and-carry permit or any other authorization to carry a firearm,” officials wrote in the release.
Charges were pending and would be handled in St. Louis County.
