New Shining Light Church of Venice invites the public to a free Thanksgiving meal

The New Shining Light Church and Feed the Hungry Outreach Ministry will have its 21st annual free Thanksgiving Day dinner from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23, at 740 Broadway, Venice. This is a free event and everyone is welcome. Free knit caps and gloves will be given away to adults and children until they are gone. This event also features a drawing for five sweet potato pies. Tickets will be distributed as attendees arrive.

Baptist church seeking pastor

The North End Missionary Baptist Church of East St. Louis is accepting resumes for the position of pastor. Birthday party and fundraiser

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is celebrating Joe Hubbard’s 75th birthday with a holiday-themed birthday party at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 505 Fountains Parkway, Fairview Heights. There will be an optional mass at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $25 per person and reservations are due by Dec. 4. This event features live music, entertainment, silent auction, surprise visit from Santa and more. In lieu of presents, Joe Hubbard is asking guests to donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Renovation Fund in his name. Information: 618-394-0126.
