Don’t count on Wood River pool to cool you down this summer

The Wood River Aquatic Center will not open this summer.

According to The Alton Telegraph, Wood River officials met on Friday and decided the cost of repairs too much.

Jason Woody, director of Parks and Recreation, said total repairs would be more than $100,000, which includes replacing electrical panels and a new filtration system.

The pool opened in 1985.
