Freeburg store robbed by person wearing a blanket

A Freeburg store was robbed Saturday night by a person completely wrapped in a blue blanket, according to police.

The person entered Freeburg Liquor at 108 South State Street around 11 p.m. armed with a knife and demanded money. The suspect, described by police as a white male, was wearing a Detroit Tigers baseball hat, a black coat, a blue blanket and a mask.

The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

Freeburg police are asking anyone with information to call the department.
