A Pontoon Beach man who Madison police found squatting in an apartment with a firearm was sentenced Friday to more than two years in prison.
Marc Biggs, 34, was found hiding in an apartment at 924 Madison Ave. in March 2016 when police were responding to a call to remove squatters from the building, according to a press release from Donald S. Boyce, United States attorney for the Southern District of Illinois.
Officers also discovered a rifle in the bedroom where Biggs, a previously convicted felon, was hiding.
Biggs was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and sentenced to 30 months in prison with three years of supervised release.
