If you thought Glazy Squares Doughnuts in Collinsville had closed, you’re not alone.

The doughnut shop took the sign down at its former Vandalia Street location weeks ago, but that doesn’t mean it’s gone for good. Customers who are crazy about the square doughnuts can find them at the shop’s new location at 410 Beltline Road in Collinsville.

Jennifer Divac and her husband, Dre, own the shop where square doughnuts are on the menu, along with biscuits and gravy, a popular favorite among locals.

“The one thing that makes me extremely proud about Glazy Squares is that we’re family-owned and operated,” Divac said.

Her family purchased the business in October from Kelly and Steve Sipes of Collinsville. They grew the business into two locations, one in Collinsville and another in Edwardsville at 443 S. Buchanan St.

Moving to the Collinsville location on Beltline Road gives the shop a permanent home, Divac said. They were renting until now.

The Beltline Road store will eventually add a drive-thru, and there’s more room inside for customers to eat doughnuts on-the-spot.

The new location also features items from Honeydip Bake Shop in Maryville also owned by Divac. She baked for friends and family before opening a bake shop and buying Glazy Squares.

“My mom and I baked all the time,” Divac said. “After she passed away, I realized that was the best time we had together.”
