A woman was killed Sunday morning in a car accident on I65 near Washington Park and East St. Louis.

The woman killed on Sunday morning has been identified as Lyn Trinh Chieng, 56, of St. Louis.

Chieng died at the scene at about 7 a.m. Sunday, when a wrong-way driver crashed into her vehicle on Interstate 64 near Kingshighway in Washington Park.

Illinois State Police are still investigating the crash, spokesman Calvin Dye Jr. said Monday.

The at-fault driver, a 29-year-old man from O’Fallon, collided with another vehicle driven by a woman on the interstate near Washington Park and East St. Louis, police said. He has not been charged.

The crash was the second wrong-way driver fatality in four days, Dye said, and the 165th crash District 11 Troopers have responded to since the beginning of 2018.
