Book donated to Goodwill with $10,000 in silver coins inside
A hollow book donated to a Northern Illinois Goodwill was far from empty.
Ten thousand dollars in never-circulated silver coins was found by a donation attendant at the Goodwill Northern Illinois’ Machesney Park, WREX-13 reports.
No one had reported erroneously donated coins, WEEK-25 reported. Goodwill officials used a receipt and finally enlisted local banks to help track the coin’s owners and was able to return the coins to the family.
The donor wished to remain anonymous.
