Man drove stolen RV through Southern Illinois during chase, police say

A 38-year-old Carbondale man drove a stolen recreational vehicle Friday night through several cities in Southern Illinois and ended a police chase by ramming the RV into a police vehicle, according to police.

Police say Kevin W. Page did not stop for Williamson County Sheriff’s Office deputies, even after they deployed stop sticks that damaged two of the RV’s tires, according to The Southern Illinoisan. The man continued to drive about seven more miles into Herrin, with eight departments chasing him.

Page is facing at least nine charges that include aggravated fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault on a police officer, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office did not say if the police officer was injured in the accident.
