Lane restrictions and a ramp closure will begin Wednesday on westbound Interstate 64 in St. Clair County.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Electrico, Inc. will be removing three high mast light towers from the area until Jan. 29, according to a press release. The work requires some lane restrictions along the interstate, including the closure of the entrance ramp from St. Clair Avenue to eastbound I-55/64 in East St. Louis.
Traffic control devices such as electronic message boards will be used to assist drivers.
In the press release, the department added they ask “that motorists be patient, reduce speed, obey all warning signs, and use additional caution when traveling near this work zone.”
