He bought gas then came back to rob the station, police say

Nashville police were looking for an armed man Thursday who they believe robbed a gas station Wednesday afternoon — just 25 minutes after he stopped for gas at the same station.

Police released updated photos taken from surveillance video showing a man pumping gas into a 2016 gray Toyota Corolla with out-of-state plates at the BP Gas Station, located at 11724 Illinois 127 near the interchange with Interstate 64.

Police say the gas station was robbed about 4 p.m. Wednesday. They posted on Facebook that the suspect is a white, dark-haired man in his mid- to later-20s. He was wearing dark clothing and had a black revolver handgun that he showed during the robbery.

Earlier reports that he was driving a dark green pickup, and may have had a female passenger were incorrect, police say.

Nashville police are asking anyone with information about the suspect or the robbery to call them at 618-327-8232.
