A 42-year-old Centralia man who stole a pack of cigarettes from a convenience store has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Muriel Givens III received the sentence on a charge of felony retail theft, according to Salem radio station WBJD. The charge was a felony because Givens has a prior theft conviction, among other previous felony convictions, according to the radio station.
Givens stole a pack of cigarettes from the Casey’s General Store in Centralia in March.
He will be given credit for 150 days served in the Marion County Jail while his case was pending. After the prison term, he’ll be on parole for one year.
