IDOT plans overnight I-270 lane closure in Granite City

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to close a lane overnight Tuesday on westbound I-270 in Granite City, weather permitting.

The lane closure is planned to be in place between the Illinois 3 interchange and the new Chain of Rocks Canal Bridge. Work to repair damaged pavement is scheduled to take place between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Flaggers, traffic control devices and traffic control signing will guide traffic through the work zone, IDOT said.
