Warmer than normal again; storms possible later in the week

The high temperature will reach 85 on Wednesday in the metro-east, according to the National Weather Service.

The average high temperature for the first week of May in the metro-east is 73, 12 degrees cooler than the predicted high.

During the evening hours, skies will become partly cloudy. The low will be 62.

There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms in the forecast for Thursday. The best chance of rain will come after 1 p.m. Otherwise, skies will be partly sunny.

It will be mostly cloudy in the evening when the 20 percent chance of thunderstorms will continue. The low will be 64.

The chance of storms will shoot up to 60 percent during the day Friday, when the high will be 83.

There is a 40 percent chance of storms Friday night, when the low will be 65.

The long range forecast predicts thunderstorms are likely both Saturday and Sunday when the highs will be in the upper 70s or lower 80s.
