5-year-old hospitalized after attack by 120-pound family dog
A five-year-old Wood River boy was hospitalized after being attacked Wednesday by the family dog.
According to authorities, he was attacked at about 3:30 p.m. by an English Mastiff that weighed more than 120 pounds.
The attack occurred in the family’s home in the 100 block of Grand Avenue.
The boy was unresponsive when he was airlifted to an area hospital. No word on his condition is available.
The dog was destroyed.
