East St. Louis man gets 15 years in prison for sex with teen

Sex with teen lands man in prison

An East St. Louis man was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges that he engaged in a sex act with a 16-year-old boy.

Arthur A. Reed, 44, was sentenced Tuesday by St. Clair County Circuit Judge Zina Cruse.

The case was investigated by East St. Louis Police Department. Assistant State’s Attorney Amanda Fischer prosecuted the case against Reed.

Reed and the teen were supposed to meet some transsexuals at Reed’s house, according to police, but they failed to show. Reed then engaged in sex with the boy, police said.

The victim, identified as A.H. in the charges, told his mother about the abuse after the victim got into a fight with Reed at a local gas station. She contacted police.

“This defendant had no excuse and preyed upon his teenage victim and received the punishment he deserved today,” State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly said.
