Sunny, then rising temperatures and chance of rain for holiday weekend


After several days of temperatures well below normal, it will start to warm up Friday, but rain is a threat for the Memorial Day weekend.

The high will reach 75 Friday under mostly sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service. That’s two degrees cooler than the average high of 77 for May 22 in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

Clouds will move in during the evening,when the low will be 55.

On Saturday, the high will be 77 under partly sunny skies. The low will be 60 Saturday night as a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms moves in.

The chance of storms will increase to 60 percent Sunday, when the high will be 80 and a low of 68.

For Memorial Day on Monday, there is a 60 percent chance of rain with a high of 79. During the evening, the chance of rain drops to 30 percent with a low of 67.
