Two Dupo teenagers have been charged with armed robbery and other offenses in connection with a two-vehicle crash that occurred after occupants in a car had “a struggle” following an alleged drug deal just before the crash, which left three persons injured, Collinsville police reported.

Kolbie M. Allen, 18, of Dupo was charged on Friday in Madison County with armed robbery, armed violence, aggravated unlawful use of weapons, unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and reckless driving causing great bodily harm.

Allen had not been arrested by the time the Collinsville Police Department issued a news release Friday night. A department spokesman could not be reached for comment on Sunday.

Brenden T. Colvin, 19, of Dupo was charged with armed robbery, armed violence, aggravated unlawful use of weapons and unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Colvin was arrested by police officers.

Police said a crash between an Infiniti and a Chevrolet van occurred about 3:55 p.m. Thursday on St. Louis Road near Davis Place in Collinsville. The struggle involving Allen and Colvin occurred in the Infiniti.

After the crash, one man in the Infiniti ran from the scene while the driver and the remaining passenger were taken to a St. Louis area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the van was injured and was transported from the scene in an ambulance. This person’s condition was not available.

Additional details about the struggle in the Infiniti and the alleged drug deal were not available.

Bail was set at $500,000 each for Allen and Colvin.
