Man killed when trucker crosses center line on Illinois highway

A 36-year-old man died Monday in a two-vehicle accident on Illinois 152 east of Illinois 127, a press release from the Illinois State Police said.

Around 6 a.m., the driver of an eastbound straight truck, Wesley J. Borden of Columbia, Illinois, crossed the center line and struck a westbound GMC Acadia head one.

The crash killed the GMC’s driver, a man from Mulkeytown whose identity has not yet been released.

Police closed Illinois 152 in both directions for almost 6 hours following the accident, the press release stated. The Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating the accident.

Borden, the truck driver, was charged with improper lane usage.
