Pub owner to burglar: ‘If you needed money ... I would of just gave it to you’

Just under the menu of a “delicious breakfast” featuring wings and beer, L’Cl’s Pub offers an admonishment on its Facebook page.

“If you needed money ... I would of just gave it to you,” the page says to the person who robbed the pub.

Instead, police are investigating the burglary, which they responded to at about 3 a.m. Wednesday at the pub at 605 N. Main Street in Caseyville.

Because the burglar took the register, the pub can accept only cash on Wednesday and expects a new register in by Thursday.

L.C.’s Pub says cameras, door, glass “and my favorite Cubs gnome” were damaged in the burglary.

Detective Danny Allison said police are relying on surveillance to help solve the case.

“This is the fourth one within a mile radius,” he said of the burglary, saying police think it’s the same suspect or the same group of suspects.

Police say the suspect was out of the business in less than a minute. They ask that anyone with information call the detectives at 618-344-2151 ext. 142.
