A 35-year-old mother of five children died Sunday night after her vehicle ran off the road and flipped on Old St. Road at Citrus Lane in Wood River.

Amanda J. Kieffer was driving south just after 9 p.m. when she lost control of the car, drove off the road and flipped, according to a news release from Wood River police.

Kieffer was ejected and police found her dead when they arrived. No one else was involved in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Kieffer’s children and family,” Wood River Police Chief Brad Wells wrote in the news release.
