Centreville house destroyed in Thanksgiving day fire

A house was destroyed by a fire on Thanksgiving right after family of one of the home’s residents finished their dinner, according to reports.

Fire departments responded to Del Rose Avenue on Thursday shortly after Ruth Anthony and her family finished dinner. Anthony noticed smoke coming from her brother’s house, which was next door, according to KSDK.

Anthony’s brother, who wasn’t identified, tried putting out the fire with an extinguisher, but the fire grew out of control, she told KSDK.

“I told him come on man you got to get up out of here you can’t stay in here. It was so much smoke he couldn’t find his way out until he heard my voice then he came on out. It was scary, and it was it was just horrible,” Anthony told KSDK.

Eventually fire departments were called. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the news station reported.
