Caseyville man wins $1 million playing lottery
For the second time in a week, lottery officials have announced that a metro-east resident has won a big prize.
James Norris, of Caseyville won $1 million after scratching off a Wild 10s ticket with a nickel, according to lottery officials.
The ticket was purchased at Brett’s Caytown Convenience Store at 605 S. Main St. in Caseyville.
“When I saw that I won $1 million I was shocked,” Norris said. “I guess I never expected to win such a big prize.”
Norris said he plans to use part of the money to pay tuition to study law enforcement. He’ll use the rest to buy a car for himself and one for his mother, pay off bills and to invest.
Earlier this week, lottery officials announced that a winning lottery ticket worth $600,000 was sold at the Bethalto Farm Fresh store.
The ticket, with numbers 01,02,03,06 and 30, was sold for the May 24th lottery drawing.
